Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (Furlough) Claims - updates

On 5 January 2021 the government updated their guidance on the Furlough scheme to clarify that parents who need to stay at home as they are currently required to look after school-age children are eligible for furlough.

It also confirms that those who are “clinically extremely vulnerable” can also be furloughed by their employee.

On 17 December 2020, the government confirmed that the furlough scheme had been extended by a month until the end of April 2021. The government contribution will not be reduced so the contribution of 80% of wages (up to the cap) will continue until the end of the Scheme.

I’ve personally worked with Ortolan Legal’s managing director on a number of transactions. Their legal advice doesn’t come wrapped in multiple caveats; it takes account of the commercial realities businesses face. Technically, they are really capable and they’re also highly personable people to work with. They represent real value for money.
