Travel update for amber list countries and Employees

Further to our update last month, employers should note that holidays to amber list countries can resume on 19 July for fully vaccinated passengers without the need to quarantine afterwards, which is a change in policy announced on 8 July.

The changes will come into force from Monday 19 July at 4am.

This applies to passengers who are:

fully vaccinated (i.e. both doses, plus 14 days)

with an NHS administered vaccine in the UK

pre-departure testing and day 2 testing measures remain in place

This may affect members of staff who previously had holiday requests turned down if the employee did not have enough leave to support a quarantine period as well as the holiday, or were unable to work from home during the isolation.

Employers should be aware that staff may be wishing to re-submit holiday applications.

I have worked with Ortolan Legal since 2010 and used their services extensively. They have provided corporate and commercial legal advice and we have also drawn on their capability in the areas of employment law, dispute resolution and property law. What makes them so different is their ability consistently to deliver commercially focussed and high quality advice at a price point which simply cannot be matched by other law firms. They aim to strip out unnecessary overhead costs, concentrate on the quality of their core service and pass on these cost savings to their clients. It works.
